Account of the ride:
In the two months that passed after my first attempt, almost all the snow had melted and significant trailwork had been done to clear the downed trees. Wildflowers were starting to bloom and conditions were perfect. The Tour de Los Padres bikepackers had been through portions of the route a couple weeks prior, and it was nice to have the dirt a little more packed down after the snow had fluffed it up. Highly suggest April/May rides for this route before temperatures pick up.
