Description: Starting in one of the most scenic/beautiful places in New Zealand - Wānaka. This ride starts at the Wānaka wharf, where you can find some of the largest tuna (eels) and trout in the country. It leaves town towards Tarras, where it makes a left turn up and over the Lindis pass - straight through to Tekapō. Views of Pukaki and Mt Cook as some of the highlights of this section.
Then, through Burke's Pass to Fairly, well-known for its pies, left to Geraldine, and through Mayfield to Stavely, along the edge of the Canterbury Plains. Another scenic trip past My Hutt and over the Rakaia gorge before making a right towards Christchurch. A few hours on long straight roads to the bustling Christchurch CBD and finishing at the coast on the New Brighton Pier.
Christchurch hosts some of the finer places to get a bite/drink to finish off a big day
471km with 3299m vertical to climb. Two passes (Lindis/Burkes) and some of the best scenery New Zealand has to offer.
