Notes from the ride:

Submitted by Ollie Hallam: The ride went really well. On day one, I battled strong head/crosswinds for three or four hours on the exposed sections of the trail. There were some lovely sections of singletrack on this first day that I thoroughly enjoyed. I refueled a few times in small coastal towns, and eventually made it to Marion Bay approx 250km in, where I chose to sleep for a few hours in my bivvy. The night was not still; it was super windy, and I didn't sleep very well until I moved into a shed hidden away from the wind.

The second day began before sunrise, riding through Innes National Park, which was absolutely beautiful, and I really enjoyed this section. I did a bit of walking through sandy sections, but spent the majority of the time on a trail or dirt roads. Once I left the National Park, it was predominantly gravel roads with corrugations or double track all the way to Moonta Bay, where the trail ended. Although I did struggle through a beach hike section and a few soft sandy spots. I refueled twice on this day but kept pushing in order to finish as fast as I could. This day was hard mentally, battling through more headwinds until approximately 200km to go. Rode through rolling gravel hills with short climbs into Moonta Bay and finished.
