Description: This iconic touring route was commissioned by the State of Oregon in 1982. OCBR mostly follows a generous shoulder of US-101 along the often mountainous coastline, winding around headlands and through forests with various sections along the beach. Flat spots are sparse as the route rolls up and down for more than 20,000 ft (6096 m) of gain from the northernmost to southernmost point of the state.An FKT attempt must include all “strongly recommended” deviations from US-101 as described in the Oregon Department of Transportation brochure, as well as the Three Capes Scenic Route.
