Four Peaks of Ireland: End-to-End
Name: Four Peaks of Ireland: End-to-End
Start: Slieve Donard Trailhead, Newcastle, Co. Down
Finish: Carrauntoohil, Co. Kerry
Length: 567 Miles/ 912KM
GPX: Link and file
Description: This is a fully continuous north-to-south crossing of Ireland, linking the country’s four provincial high points entirely by bike and foot. No transfers, no shortcuts, no resets. Just human-powered movement from the first step on Slieve Donard to the final descent off Carrauntoohil.
Riders will encounter:
What makes it compelling is not just the physical challenge, but the flow of the journey itself. You begin beside the Irish Sea in County Down, move through the Wicklow Mountains, cross the Midlands through the night, reach the wild Atlantic landscape of Mayo, and finally finish deep in Kerry beneath Ireland’s highest mountain. Every stage feels different physically, mentally, and visually.
We’ve intentionally designed the effort to remain fully continuous and FKT-compliant while still prioritising safety, teamwork, and sustainable execution over chasing arbitrary time splits. The challenge is ambitious enough to feel almost unreasonable, yet achievable with the right preparation, discipline, and team dynamic.
Most importantly, this is the kind of route that people will remember long after the finish. It has the ingredients of a proper adventure: uncertainty, exhaustion, incredible scenery, shared suffering, and the rare feeling of doing something that may genuinely not have been done before.
